19th Biennial International Conference of PPS (PPS-19) Concluded
The 19th Biennial International Conference of Pakistan Physiological Society (PPS-19) has been held jointly by the Bolan Medical College, and Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences, 5-6 December 2025. More than 300 delegates attended the PPS-19 and 150 articles were presented at the Conference as Oral and Poster presentations, onsite and online. It has been a very fruitful conference with active participation of delegates from all over Pakistan along with the students of Balochistan medical institutes. It was a well organised Conferences from the platform of the PPS Balochistan Chapter in the leadership of Prof Nargis Haider Kakar.
Alamdar Hussain, Arif Siddiqui, Attique Younas, Ayub, and other Prizes were also awarded.
Alamdar Hussain Prize:
This prize is awarded in memory of Late Prof. Alamdar Hussain to the Best Oral Presentations on a Physiology topic by junior physiologists up to Assistant Professor rank. The detailed results are as under:
1st Position (Alamdar Hussain Shield + Certificate + Cash Rs. 15,000):

2nd Position (Certificate + Rs. 5,000):

Dr. Ayub’s Cash Prize:
This prize is awarded by Prof. Muhammad Ayub on behalf of the Department of Physiology, Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad to the Best Poster Presentations on a Physiology topic by Undergraduate students.

Cash Prize Rs. 5,000 + Certificate
General Body Meeting:
The General Body held its meeting on the afternoon of the 2nd day of the Conference. All present Life and Regular Members attended the meeting physically and online. The agenda was discussed in detail and finalized. The detailed financial reports of the PPS Accounts were presented, considered, and unanimously approved by the General Body.
Elections of the next Executive Committee were held under the Supervision of Prof. Maj Gen (R) Muhammad Aslam as Election Commissioner, assisted by Prof. Muhammad Ayub, and Prof. M. Abdul Azeem. It was decided by majority to hold the election by ‘Show of Hand’ procedure. The General Body Elected the Office Bearers of the Society for the next term. Oath Taking Ceremony was held after the elections and the Election Commissioner, Prof. Maj Gen (R) Muhammad Aslam administered the Oath to the new Executive Committee.
The meeting was followed by a Gala Dinner.
